Trekking with Maasai guide in Northern Kenya (circa 1987)

Walking in Nature…

Seaview from my garden on the North Devon coast

“During my life I have been fortunate enough to do a lot of walking. I have trekked in the Rwenzori Mountains in Uganda, in the Annapurna region of the Himalayas, and in the deserts of Northern Kenya. I have walked coast to coast from my home in North Devon to the English Channel off South Devon and onwards along the coast path. And when I am home I walk everyday I can along the rugged and dramatic Atlantic-facing South West Coast Path on the beautiful Hartland Peninsula - whatever the weather. And on each walk I breathe in the fresh air and clear my mind. And invariably I arrive home refreshed and renewed. It’s like magic. It is my meditation.

Walking in the natural world is truly a wonderful thing…”
